Message placeholders let you quickly insert dynamic fields into outgoing messages, which are automatically replaced with the actual contact or chat details when sent. Placeholders enhance automation and personalization for Auto Reply, Quick Reply, and Broadcast features.
Click the corresponding button(s) to insert a placeholder. 'More' opens a drop-down for extra options:
When you send a message, placeholders are replaced with real values from the contact profile, group info, or current context. Language formatting is automatically adapted to the recipient's locale.
| Placeholder | Description |
|---|---|
| {Salutation} | Recipient's honorary (Mr./Ms./Sir/Madam etc.), varies by gender and language region |
| {Display Name} | Contact's display name (contact, fallback to WhatsApp name) |
| {Company Name} | Company name (will show [Company] if missing in profile) |
| {Job Title} | Job title (will show [Job Title] if missing in profile) |
| {Group Name} | Name of the group, only used in group chats |
| {WhatsApp Name} | The WhatsApp account display name |
| {WhatsApp Number} | WhatsApp phone number |
| {Timestamp} | Sent message timestamp, format auto-localized by language |
The {Timestamp} placeholder is always replaced with the current sending time, so it is always up-to-date, regardless of when you composed the draft.
Yes, the same replacement and localization logic applies in all three scenarios.
If your contact profile is missing company or job title, it will default to [Company]/[Job Title]. Please update the profile or manually adjust the replacement.
